The fungus Metarhizium anisopliae is an antagonistic fungus which prevents the crop from insect pests (Plant hoppers, Bugs and root grubs). When the spores of MIKMETA come in contact with the cuticle (skin) of the target insect pests, it germinates and grows directly through the spiracle, cuticle into the inner body of the host. The fungus proliferates throughout the insect’s body, draining the insect’s nutrients and the infected insects, eventually die.
